Bantwal: Auto-rickshaw driver missing after leaving vehicle on old Panemangalore bridge

Bantwal, Oct 29, 2025: An autorickshaw driver has gone missing after parking his vehicle on the old Panemangalore bridge, raising suspicions that he may have jumped into the Netravati River.

The missing person has been identified as Preetham Lobo, a resident of Marnabailu. Around 8 am, he reportedly parked his battery-operated rickshaw on the old Panemangalore bridge and went missing. Locals informed the police about the incident.

A photo of the rickshaw has now gone viral on social media. Locals suspect that he might have jumped into the river. Bantwal Town Police and Fire and Emergency Services personnel have launched a search operation in the Netravati River.
