Bantwal: Absconding accused arrested in Kerala, remanded to judicial custody

Bantwal, Jul 11, 2025: The Bantwal Town Police arrested an absconding accused from Manjeshwar in Kerala on July 10 for failing to appear before the honourable court during the trial of a case. He was produced before the court, which has remanded him to judicial custody.

The arrested accused has been identified as Hidayath alias Abdulla, a resident of Manchi, Bantwal.

He was earlier released on bail in connection with Bantwal Town Police Station case number 139/2007 registered under IPC Sections 366, 420, 120B, 368 read with 149. However, since December 2023, he had been absconding and failed to appear before the court, violating its orders.

Following this, a new case has been registered against him under Bantwal Town Police Station Crime No. 74/2025 under Section 269 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further legal action is underway.
