Bantwal: 6.5 kg ganja seized near B C Road; one arrested

Bantwal, Nov 8, 2025: Excise officials arrested a man for allegedly selling ganja near the railway track close to B C Road under Bantwal jurisdiction.

The accused has been identified as Santosh Sonkar (28). During the raid, officials seized 6.590 kg of ganja, packed in 1,173 plastic sachets, from his possession. He was later produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was conducted under the directions of the Joint Commissioner of the Mangaluru Excise Division, with guidance from the Deputy Commissioner of Excise and the Bantwal Sub-Divisional Excise Deputy Superintendent. The team included Bantwal Range Excise Inspector Lakshman Shivanagi and staff members Prakash, Basavaraj, and Srinivas.
