
Bantwal, Jun 5, 2026: A 10-year-old girl lost her life after sustaining critical injuries in a collision between two two-wheelers at Soorikumeru in Vittal on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Nairuthi M. Suvarna, daughter of Hemanth Kumar and a resident of Balthila village.
According to reports, Hemanth Kumar was returning home with his wife and two daughters after offering prayers at the Netla Sadashiva Temple. When they reached near Soorikumeru, a scooter allegedly collided with their motorcycle.
The impact threw Nairuthi onto the concrete road, causing severe head injuries. She was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Thumbe for treatment. Despite the efforts of doctors, she succumbed to her injuries around midnight.
A student of a local primary school, Nairuthi was known for her talent in bhajan singing and was undergoing formal training in the art.
Bantwal Traffic Police Sub-Inspector Adarsh and his team visited the accident site and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered at the Bantwal Traffic Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
