Bantwal: 1 dead, 8 injured in jeep-lorry hit

Bantwal, Dec 20, 2012:  A head-on collision between a jeep and a lorry near Neralakatte  here on the night of December 19, Wednesday, left one person dead and eight others injured, three of them critically.

 

The lorry was proceeding from Puttur while the jeep  was heading towards Puttur from Tumbay Ramalkatte.

The deceased has been identified as Dinaker Gowda hailing from Kabaka-Kodippady. The critically injured namely Pakira, Harish and Devappa have been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore, while the other injured namely Girish, Santosh, Giriappa and Balakrishna are receiving treatment in a Puttur Hospital.

Vittal police have registered a case.
