Bandh evokes no response in coastal districts

Mangaluru, Feb 14, 2020: Barring a stray incident of a bus being stoned in Adyar, on city’s outskirts, the bandh call by pro-Kannada organisations demanding the implementation of Sarojini Mahishi report received lukewarm response across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

 

Schools, colleges and other establishments remained open and markets functioned as usual.

Andhra Pradesh State Transport Bus plying on NH-75 was stoned near Adyar. However no passenger was hurt, police sources
said.

Members of Tulu Nadu Rakshana Vedike staged a dharna in front of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) building demanding 80 per cent employment to local youth. The interview conducted by MRPL for job aspirants from other states was also held smoothly, sources
added.
