Balipa Narayana Bhagawatha receives Samaga Award

Mangalore, Aug 2, 2012 : MP Nalin Kumar Kateel presented the Malpe Shankaranarayana Samaga Award to Balipa Narayana Bhagawatha on Aug 1, Wednesday in Mangalore.

 

 

 

 

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, M. L. Samaga, president of the Karnataka Yakshagana Bayalata, said that Yakshagana shows must become more refined so that Yakshagana can be promoted as a classical form of art. He spoke of the need to implement discipline in the performances to present it as a classical art.

Kalkura Foundation, which organized the function, presented a traditional Yakshagana show.
