Bakrid celebrated with religious fervour across the district

Mangaluru, June 7, 2025: Bakrid, which is also known as Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated by Muslim brethren across the city and district on June 7, Saturday with great religious fervour. The day is marked by special prayers, greetings and gifts.

Bakrid is also known as the festival of sacrifice for the Islam faithful. Special prayers were offered in various Idgahs and mosques across the city to mark the day.

 

 

 

 

 

 

At the Edah mosque at Bavutagudda, Eid namaz and Khutba recital was held under the leadership of DK Khazi Alhaz Twaqa Ahmed Musliyar while in  Central Jumma Masjid, Ullal, the prayers were led by Khatib Abdul Majeed Falili.

The prayers will be followed by feasts with family members, friends and relatives. The festival is being celebrated to commemorate the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim.
