Bajrang Dal leader Punit Attavar barred from entering Udupi District for three months

Mangaluru, Aug. 13, 2026: Udupi Police have issued a prohibitory order against Bajrang Dal leader Punit Attavar, barring him from entering Udupi district for three months.

The restriction will be in force from August 14, 2026, to November 13, 2026.

The order has been issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, with the objective of maintaining law and order in the district and safeguarding public interest.

Punit Attavar was scheduled to attend an Independence Day programme in Udupi as the chief guest and was also expected to deliver the keynote address at the event.

Udupi Police have served a notice to Attavar informing him of the entry ban.
