Mangalore, Jan 25: In a shocking incident, the activists of Bajrang Dal damaged a bakery belonging to Santhosh a congress leader from Konaje. The incident occurred at Asaigoli, near Konaje police station on the night of Monday, January 24.
Konaje Police investigating the case said that, a verbal spat had occurred between assistant convener of Ullal zone Bajrang Dal, Ravi, and Santhosh, a local Congress leader from Konaje, pertaining to the state Bandh on Saturday, January 22. The situation turned worse, after Santosh along with local hooligans attacked Ravi. Ravi, who was severely injured in the incident, was admitted into a local hospital on the same night.
On Monday night, over 150 Bajrang Dal activists ransacked and damaged Aiyanger Bakery, owned by Santosh, located at Asaigoli. After vandalizing Bakery, the Bhajarangadala activists approached the house of Santosh with the intention of assaulting him. The policemen of Konaje station, who were alerted about the incident by localites of Asaigoli, rushed to the spot in time, and averted a major altercation.
A case has been registered in the Konaje police station.
