
Puttur, May 2, 2026: BJP candidate from Manjeshwar K. Surendran has said that the party is likely to secure double-digit seats in Kerala in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Speaking in Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district, he noted that the BJP had secured around 20% vote share in Kerala during the last Lok Sabha elections. He also pointed out that the party had won in Thrissur and successfully sent a BJP candidate to the Lok Sabha from the state.
He expressed confidence that the BJP will perform better in the upcoming Assembly polls as well.
Surendran stated that the BJP is a Hindutva-based party and does not differentiate between regions such as Karnataka, the coastal belt, or Kerala.
Responding to BJP MP Suresh Gopi’s remarks on beef consumption, he clarified that it was a personal opinion and not the party’s official stand.icial stand.
