Bengaluru, September 21, 2025: The BJP will stage a ‘Rasta Roko’ protest across all 224 Assembly constituencies in Karnataka on September 24, demanding immediate action to address the poor condition of roads in the state, party president B. Y. Vijayendra announced on Sunday.
“The protest will be held from 11 a.m. for one hour in all constituencies, including Bengaluru, Shivamogga, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi. People are upset with the state of roads, which are riddled with potholes,” Vijayendra said.
The Congress government has been facing mounting criticism over road conditions, particularly in Bengaluru. In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday directed officials to fix all potholes and restore roads within one month.
The issue has drawn attention from several prominent voices, including former Infosys CFO T. V. Mohandas Pai and Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, who recently urged the state government to act swiftly.
Adding to the concern, trucking platform BlackBuck announced its decision to relocate from Bellandur on Bengaluru’s Outer Ring Road, citing commuting and infrastructure challenges.
