BJP more worried over PM’s shrinking image rather than problem of Covid affected people:Ramanath Rai

Mangaluru, May 17, 2021:       "The BJP was more worried about the shrinking image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi even when people were suffering due to the sharp spike in Covid cases; the BJP government was not prioritising the welfare of people in the time of suffering," alleged senior Congress leader B Ramanatha Rai.

 

Addressing a press meet at the Congress office on May 17, Monday, Rai said the prices of essential commodities as well as fuel would have been reduced during the pandemic if the Congress government was in power.

District Congress President Harish Kumar who also spoke, said the government must announce a package for the poor who are hit hard by the Covid lockdown.

He also urged the authorities to ensure the vehicles seized for violating lockdown rules are handed over to the people concerned at the police stations itself.

MLA UT Khader said the Covid vaccination drive has now faltered when people are keen to get vaccinated.

Party leaders Abhayachandra Jain, J R Lobo, Mithun Rai, B Ibrahim, Moidin Bava and others were present.
