Mangalore, Feb 1, 2012 : Addressing a press conference on Jan 31 Tuesday, N. B. Abubakker, the chairman of the Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Limited, said that the BJP has created a record by releasing Rs. 397 crores for the development of the minority communities in its 2011 – 12 budget.

Stating that the party has given special attention to minorities to make up for the injustice meted out to the minorities by previous governments, he said that the JD (S) and the Congress always take up issues and blow them out of proportions just before an election. Complaining that the Congress and the JD (S) have always used religion to build their vote banks, he said that the state has witnessed a number of communal clashes in the past, but they have been brought under control at present.

Congress Allegations False

Speaking in support of RSS leader Dr. Prabhakar Bhat at a Hindu Samajotsava held in Uppinangady recently, he said that Dr. Bhat made no provocative statements as stated by the Congress. He said that this is a Congress gimmick to appease minorities and grab their votes. He said that the minority communities are well aware that attempts are being made to divide Muslim and Hindu communities for votes.

He also said that an appeal will be made to the CM and the governor to withdraw the case against Dr. Bhat and that a protest will be held on Feb 7 in front of the DC’s office demanding a thorough investigation of the Uppinangady incident and the withdrawal of the case against Dr. Bhat.

Pointing the finger of blame at KFD, Anwar Manippady, the president of the Karnataka State Minority Commission, said that the Uppinangady clash was a direct result of the KFD slogan “Pakistan Zindabad.” He also pointed that Masood, the president of the Muslim Central Committee, has made no statements against the anti national activities of the KFD.
