BJP leader urges people to vote for its candidates

Mangalore, June 2, 2012 : Ananth Kumar, BJP leader and Bangalore South MP, said that Captain Ganesh Karnik and D. H. Shankarmurthy are able candidates for the graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies and urged people to vote in their favor so that they can develop the education sector.

Addressing the media at an election campaign held at Sharada Vidyalaya on June 2, Saturday, he said that Rahul Gandhi had visited Karnataka just for political reasons and not to help distressed people in 23 districts and 126 taluks.

Further, he said that Sonia Gandhi visited Karnataka a month back to study its problems and said that she would discuss the issue of sanctioning Rs. 283 crore for the state with union ministers P. Chidambaram, Pranab Mukherjee, and P. M. Manmohan Singh, but she sanctioned only Rs. 73 crore as compensation to the disaster prone state.


He urged Rahul to provide Rs. 1,500 crore for the development of the state along with 1,500 metric ton wheat and 1,300 metric ton rice for the poor people. He also said that he had sanctioned 3.5 metric ton rice in just three days when he was a union minister.


BJP leaders Nithin Kumar, Ayanur Manjunath, and Padmanabha Kottari were present at the press conference.
