BJP lashes out at Poojary over PCPIR issue

Mangalore, March 27, 2014: Monappa Bhandary, MLC has come down heavily on Congress candidate Janardhana Poojari for assuring to implement the PCPIR Project in the district if he was elected in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

 

 

Speaking to reporters at the BJP Election Campaign Office on March 27, Thursday,  Bhandary said  going by the leader’s statement, one gets  the impression that the government intended to make the district a barren land by going in for hazardous projects like PCPIR.

He also recalled the BJP’s opposition to the project when it was mooted once earlier a few years ago.

Countering Poojari’s claims that the PCPIR project would offer plenty of job opportunities, Monappa Bhandary pointed out how MRPL and SEZ have gone back on their words to offer jobs to locals.

Capt. Ganesh Karnik, MLC, Shakeela Kava, former deputy mayor and other BJP leaders were present.
