Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Nov 3, 2012: The BJP might have chucked Dhananjay Kumar out of the party and expressed unhappiness about the anti-party attitude of G. S. Basavaraj, Tumkur MP, but it appears more than eager to retain B. S. Yeddyurappa.

Addressing reporters, BJP State Vice President Bhanuprakash said that the BJP is not happy about Basavaraj’s recent anti-party comments, adding that Basavaraj has spoken ill of the party, the RSS, the BJP ministers in state, and even national ministers such as Nithin Gadkari and L. K. Advani. He said that the state BJP president must call a disciplinary meeting and submit a report to the high command.

Stating that the BJP had taken action against Dhanajay Kumar on disciplinary grounds, he said that the party had made him the MP and the union minister, but he began making baseless allegations with the intention of creating a rift in the party.

In response to queries on why the BJP is still soft toward BSY, Mr. Bhanuprakash said that the former CM is “different” as he commands respect from all in the party. His contributions to the BJP are great and he has played an important role in bringing the party to power in the state. He said that the high command has asked them not to make comments about BSY till the party seniors complete their talks with him.

When a reporter wanted to know if the BJP’s chances in the upcoming elections would be hurt if BSY walks out of the party, he said that the party cannot deny that it will suffer, but expressed belief that people will identify the achievements of the BJP government as the party achievements and not as BSY’s achievements.

He also said that workshops and meetings are being held to train BJP workers on the corruption within the UPA government in all assembly constituencies in Karnataka, under the slogan Congress Hatao, Desh Bachao.
