
Udupi, Apr 28, 2026: The Udupi District BJP OBC Morcha has submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, demanding appropriate legal action against Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge for allegedly making a derogatory remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by referring to him as a “terrorist.”
Expressing strong outrage over Kharge’s alleged statement, a delegation of the BJP OBC Morcha visited the office of the Superintendent of Police on Sunday morning and lodged an official complaint seeking legal action against him.
Condemning the statement in strong words, the Udupi District unit of the BJP OBC Morcha said that Kharge had deeply insulted not only the office of the Prime Minister but also the sentiments of 140 crore Indians. The Morcha alleged that the Congress party, fearing electoral defeat, was resorting to such unconstitutional and hateful remarks.
The BJP leaders further stated that such provocative statements are intended to disturb communal harmony and create unrest in society. They said no one who respects the Constitution would tolerate such language and demanded an immediate apology from the Congress party, adding that politics of hatred must come to an end.
Present during the submission of the memorandum were BJP OBC Morcha State Vice President Irodi Vitthal Poojary, District President and Udupi BJP Cell Coordinator Vijay Kodavoor, General Secretary Surendra Varanga, former City Municipal Council President Prabhakar Poojary, Umesh Naik Cherkady, Jayakar Acharya, T.G. Hegde, Manjunath Manipal, and Subhashit Pramod Padukere, among others.
