Mangaluru, Aug 26, 2025: Around 50,000 to 1 lakh BJP workers from Dakshina Kannada district and various parts of Karnataka will visit Dharmasthala on September 1. BJP district president Satish Kumpala said the visit is being organized to demonstrate solidarity with the religious faith of the region.

Demand for Probe into Soujanya Case and Other Allegations

Satish Kumpala stated that the BJP has no objection to any investigation, including by the SIT, into the Soujanya rape and murder case and other related allegations in Dharmasthala. However, he alleged that a conspiracy was being carried out to malign the reputation of Dharmasthala at the international level through a video, which is suspected to involve foreign funding. Hence, the party is demanding that the case be handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Addressing a press conference at the BJP district office on Tuesday, Kumpala said they do not oppose the ongoing SIT probe. “But the video created by Sameer M.D. using AI has defamed a Hindu religious institution at an international level. There are suspicions of significant funding behind this video. Therefore, we will urge both the state and central governments to hand over the probe to the NIA,” he added.

He further said that despite serious allegations being made against a Hindu religious institution by a person from another faith, Hindus have responded with patience. “If such accusations had been made against another religion, the reaction would have been very different. Sameer M.D. must be arrested,” he demanded.

Kumpala also questioned the roles of Sameer and another individual, Simon, in spreading misinformation. “Why did they launch such a campaign against Dharmasthala? What is their agenda? These aspects must be investigated,” he said.
