BCA Student Held with Hydro Weed Worth Rs 35 Lakh in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 13, 2026: In a major drug haul, the Mulki police arrested a 21-year-old college student and seized hydroponic ganja worth around Rs 35 lakh from her possession.

The accused, identified as Suhana, a native of Hulidevara Bana in Sagar taluk of Shivamogga district, is a final-year BCA student studying at a college in Kundapur.

Acting on credible information, a joint team of the Panambur ACP squad and Mulki police intercepted her near Mulki Railway Station Road on May 12 while she was allegedly transporting the narcotics for sale.

Police seized 1.042 kg of hydro weed, along with a mobile phone and other materials allegedly used in the illegal trade.

During interrogation, Suhana reportedly confessed to procuring the narcotics from Chennai and bringing them to Mangaluru for illegal distribution and profit.

A case has been registered at Mulki police station under Sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the NDPS Act.

Police said the accused has a criminal background with previous drug-related cases registered at Kavoor police station and by Bengaluru International Airport Customs under various provisions of the NDPS Act.
