Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav events exempt from Section 144

Mangaluru, Aug 09, 2022: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner  Dr K V Rajendra has said that the Prohibitory orders  under Section 144 that are in place in Dakshina Kannada district will not apply to the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

 

As various institutions and organisations will be celebrating the occasion, the celebrations are exempt from the prohibitory orders. However, the organisers of the events must secure prior permission  from the local administration, the Deputy Commissioner as  well  as the City Police Commissioner have stated.
