Autorickshaw fares revised : Minimum fare raised to Rs 35

Mangaluru, Nov 04, 2022: The Regional Transport Authority has revised the minimum autorickshaw fares with effect from November 15. The minimum  fare would be Rs 35 for the first 1.5 kms with a maximum three passengers. For every extra kilometer Rs 17 will be charged. While there will be no waiting charge for the first 15 minutes, it would be Rs 5 for every 15 minutes after that.  Luggage upto 20 kg will not be charged while luggage above 20 kg will be charged at the rate of Rs 5. Between 10 pm and 5 am the far would be one and a half times more than the usual fare.

The RTA  has also decided to implement colour code wherein under Zone (Mangaluru city) autorickshaws  including e-autos will be in black and yellow paint  and will also have a Zone 1 sticker  provided by the Police Department, on all four sides. Autos under Zone 2 (Mangaluru Rural) too must have black and yellow  colour and have the Zone 2  stickers on all sides,  says a notification from the Deputy Commissioner.
