Autorickshaw drivers stage huge protest against allowing e-autos without license

Mangaluru, Sep 21, 2022: Autorickshaw drivers  staged a huge protest on September 21, Wednesday in the city under the aegis of the DK District Federation of Autorickshaw Drivers-Owners Associations to condemn the functioning of the electric autorickshaws in the city without any license.

Autorickshaw drivers took out a protest march from Kadri grounds till Clock Tower via Mallikatte, Bunts Hostel, Ambedkar Circle and Hampankatta.

Addressing the protestors, Vishnumurthi, Honorary President of the Federation said  allowing e-autorickshaws to function without any license is nothing but double standards of the Union, State Governments and the Regional Transport Authority.

Honorary President of the Federation Arun Kumar said the functioning of e-rickshaws without licences has hit hard the other autorickshaw drivers and also resented the failure of the authorities to fulfill several demands of the autorickshaw drivers.

City Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar visited the protest venue and accepted memorandum from the protesting drivers.
