Auto driver arrested for kidnapping minor girl

Kundapur, Mar 17, 2013: Kundapur police have arrested a youth  on the charges of detaining a  minor girl in a rented house and then sexually assaulting her. The arrested  person  identified as Ganesh Poojari of Vaderahobali has been produced before the court and remanded to custody.

Ganesh was an auto driver  at Shastri Circle in Kundapur and had somehow lured the minor girl who had been to tuition and had taken her  to a rented house behind the Kalikamba Temple near Katkeri in Kundapur on February 23. The girl’s family had lodged a police complaint.

Meanwhile, the police who were investigating the case, raided the house on the night of March 15, Friday and  arrested the youth along with the girl. The girl has been sent home along with her parents after recording her statement. The accused Ganesh has been remanded to judicial custody till March 30.
