Athena Hospital Chairman R.S. Shettian Passes Away at 65

Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2025: R.S. Shettian (65), Administrative Director and Chairman of Athena Hospital and Athena Education Group, passed away on Friday.

He had served in various leadership roles across private and non-profit sectors and was elected as the National Treasurer and Trustee of the Indian YMCA (Young Men’s Christian Association). He was also the first person from Karnataka to be elected Treasurer of the 158-year-old YMCA. Additionally, he was a member of the CSI Shanti Cathedral in Balmata.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and a large circle of relatives.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader expressed deep sorrow over the demise of R.S. Shettian, Chairman of Athena Hospital, Mangaluru. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and for strength to the bereaved family and well-wishers.
