Assault victim cattle trader demands justice

Mangaluru, June 19, 2020:    Muhammad Haneef Guddemane, a cattle trader from Jokatte who was recently attacked by assailants has demanded justice and stern action against the activists who attacked him near the Urva police station despite him  possessing all valid documents regarding cattle transportation.

Speaking to reporters here on June 19, Friday he also alleged that the police had  secured his signature for an already  prepared statement rather than securing statement from him.

"I have been booked in  non-bailable false case of cattle theft. There are CCTV    evidences  regarding the attack on me by  15 people. Still only six were   booked under weak clauses and have been released on bail," Haneef said adding he had personally visited the station on June 17 to  give his written statement and sought action on its basis.

He  said he had the certificate from the government veterinarian regarding the age and  health of the 10  buffaloes he had purchased from Ranebennur on June 13. He also alleged that the  assailants had damaged his vehicle and had also stolen Rs 7,800 from his purse."

Former mayor K Ashraf, Haneef’s brother Haider, Jokatte GP Vice President Samshuddin were also present.
