Mangalore, Sep 11, 2o13 : Artists aired their concern for the River Netravathi by reflecting their feelings on the 50 meter long canvas at a spot painting event organised by the Department of Botany of St Aloysius College and Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi.
Through the event, nearly 28 artists have tried in their own way to sensitize the society on the drastic consequences on the proposed Ettinahole project.
Dinesh Holla, a well-known artist said the event aimed at spreading awareness about the proposed Ettinahole Project and the need to save Netravathi River.
ML Suresh Nath, Head of the Department of Botany said the project would cause devastating effects on the Western Ghats.
Artist Ganesh Somayaji also spoke on the occasion. Among the artists who took part in the event included Rajendra Kedige, John Chandra, Sapna Noronha, Rachana, Sandhya Yogesh, Naveen Bangera, Pramod Raj, Jeevan Kumar Anil Devadiga, Santhosh Andrade, Jayashree, Naveen Shrinivas, Naveen Kodialbail, Ajay Udupi, Harish Kodialbail, Harish Marne, Jeevan and Suresh Poojary.
