Arif murder case: Six accused identified, probe transferred to CCB, says Commissioner

Mangaluru, Mar 30, 2026: The investigation into the recent murder of Arif near Thokkottu has been handed over to a CCB ACP team. City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy stated that six accused have been identified in the case, but their continuous movement between locations has made immediate arrest challenging for the investigating teams.

“During the probe, our teams have reconstructed the entire conspiracy and sequence of events. In the process, we have also identified the involvement of a few more individuals. Those suspected of aiding the crime or helping the accused escape and hide are currently being questioned. If their role is confirmed, they too will be arrested,” he said.

He further warned that anyone assisting the accused in any manner would be liable for punishment under Section 249(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “As in the past, strict action will be taken without hesitation against those who violate this provision,” he added.
