Another case of online fraud in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 17, 2021: In yet another case of online fraud, a man from the city has lost Rs 1.2 lakhs.  A complaint has been lodged in the Cyber Crimes, Economic Offences and Narcotics Police Station in Mangaluru.

 

The complainant had lost the amount after being lured of  a loan of Rs 12 lakh by a man who called the former  by introducing himself as a representative of Aditya Birla Group. Then  he was introduced to another person and sent his PAN and Aadhar card details hoping to get an easy loan. On October 23 another person claiming to be from Bharti Axa Life Insurance contacted him and asked the complainant to remit Rs 60,000 along with Rs 2,700 premium for half year.  Falling into the trap, the man did so and only later realised that he was duped.
