Anchor Collapses on Stage, Dies During Mehendi Function in Bantwal

Bantwal, Apr 12, 2026: A 32-year-old anchor died after collapsing on stage while hosting a mehendi function at Nayila in Narikombu village of Bantwal taluk on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as Ashwath, a resident of Abbettu near Farangipete.

According to reports, Ashwath suddenly collapsed while anchoring a “Madarangi” (mehendi) programme at a relative’s residence. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered at Bantwal Town Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
