Udupi, Apr 19, 2019: First-time voters participated enthusiastically in the Lok Sabha elections in Udupi district on Thursday.
While some thought that voting was an important right and duty, others thought it was a responsibility which should be carried out. Vaishnavi Nayak, 18, cast her vote at the Government PU College booth at Bailoor near Karkala and said that she was delighted. “I want to elect a good candidate who will serve people,” she said.
Mohammed Yasir too was voting for the first time at the same booth in Bailoor village.
“I believe it is the right of all voters to cast their votes. It is an important responsibility, which we all should fulfill,” he said.
Kavya, 18, from Rajiv Nagar, cast her vote at the Government Model Higher Primary School booth at Nittur here.
“It is only the voters who have the power to make the government. People should come and vote as every vote in the elections counts,” he said.
