Alva’s Pragati job fair to be held on August 7–8

Mangaluru, Jun 20, 2026: The 16th edition of the annual Alva’s Pragati Job Fair, organized by the Alva’s Education Foundation, will be held on August 7 and 8 at the Vidyagiri campus in Moodbidri, said Foundation Chairman Dr. M. Mohan Alva.

Addressing a press conference at the Press Club in Mangaluru on Saturday, Dr. Alva said the job fair was launched with the objective of providing quality employment opportunities to rural talent. Over the years, it has emerged as a major platform connecting candidates from Karnataka and three other states with local, national, and international employment opportunities.

More than 250 reputed companies have participated in previous editions of the job fair. So far, 66,432 candidates have been shortlisted, and 40,848 candidates have secured jobs through on-the-spot recruitment.

This year, over 300 companies are expected to participate. Recruitment will be conducted by leading organizations from sectors such as banking and finance, information technology, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, sales and retail, hospitality, telecommunications, healthcare, media, construction, electronics, education, and NGOs.

Employment opportunities will be available for candidates with qualifications in medicine and paramedical sciences, engineering, arts, commerce, management, science, nursing, ITI, diploma courses, skill-based professions, PUC, SSLC, and other educational backgrounds.

Free accommodation will be provided from August 6 for candidates arriving from other districts and states. Special bus services will be arranged for ITI candidates. Participants are required to report at the Vidyagiri campus in Moodbidri by 8 a.m. on August 7. Candidates should carry around 10 passport-size photographs, an updated résumé, attested photocopies of mark sheets, and their online registration number.

Details of participating companies will be regularly updated on the website. Job seekers can visit the portal for the latest information. Online registration is mandatory for all candidates and can be completed free of charge through the Candidate Registration section of the website.

To help candidates understand job profiles, eligibility criteria, and career opportunities, Alva’s expert team will conduct special orientation programmes across various taluk centres in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
