
Moodbidri, Aug. 15, 2026: Alva’s Education Foundation celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at its campus in Moodbidri on Saturday.
Captain Ganesh Karnik attended the programme as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Dr. M. Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Trustee Vivek Alva, and other dignitaries.
The celebrations began with the singing of Vande Mataram. Captain Ganesh Karnik then hoisted the national flag, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.
Addressing the gathering, Captain Karnik said that freedom signifies duty, responsibility, and the obligation to live as proud citizens of the nation. He noted that India’s freedom was not obtained as a gift but was earned through the sacrifices, courage, suffering, and unwavering determination of countless freedom fighters. He urged the younger generation to remember and honour their contributions.
Teachers, students, and staff members of Alva’s educational institutions participated in the programme. Students waved the Indian tricolour during patriotic songs, while chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoed across the venue, adding to the patriotic spirit of the celebration.
