Mangaluru, Oct 19, 2021: The District Court has permitted to conduct DNA test in the case pertaining to the alleged exchange of a newborn at the Lady Goschen Hospital in the city.
As per the court orders the DNA samples of the baby and its parents will be collected today and sent to the laboratory in Hyderabad or Bengaluru. It may take upto three months for the report to arrive. Further investigations will be taken up later, police informed.
It may be recalled here that a woman from Kundapur had given birth to a baby in the hospital. The family was informed that it was a baby girl. The baby was kept in the ICU owing to some health complications. Later, the authorities informed that the baby was a boy. Unhappy over the developments, the family suspecting that the new born might have been exchanged, had filed a complaint at Bunder police station.
