All buses must have doors, DC’s directive to bus operators

Mangaluru, Feb 29, 2024: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has  directed all buses registered since 2017 to  file an affidavit after fixing doors to the buses within the next one month.

 

The orders from the DC came during the Road Safety Committee meeting held on Wednesday.

He said there is a law which makes it mandatory for all buses registered since 2017 to have doors. This has to be strictly adhered to, he added.

There has also been a growing demand to fix doors for buses. Even neighbouring Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh buses too have doors. In Bengaluru too, city buses have doors, making travel safe for passengers, the DC said.
