Airport Customs officials seize gold hidden in show piece

Mangalore, Jan 31, 2014 : Customs officials at the Mangalore International Airport have seized  nearly 195.620 grams of gold  which was concealed in a  decorative show piece  found in the baggage of a passenger  from Kasargod.

 

The accused identified as  Mohammad Haneefa Bedira Sulaiman hailed from Vidyanagar and had arrived by an Air India Express flight IX 384 from Dubai on January 29, Wednesday.

The value of the seized gold is Rs 5,86,860 lakh. Investigations are underway.
