
Mangalore, Sep 5, 2013 : Pomfret fish, known as Maanji in local dialect Tulu, weighing 0.600 ton was recently exported to Kuwait from the Mangalore International Airport. This is the first consignment of fish exported from the airport after the commencement of the air cargo facility at the airport.

JT Radhakrishnan, Mangalore Airport Director said as many as 12 packets of fish weighing 45 kg were shipped through Air India Express flight. The export of such consignments including fruits and vegetables is expected to increase in the near future.
