Absconding Accused Arrested After Five Years in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 10, 2026: Police have arrested an accused who had been absconding for the past five years in connection with multiple criminal cases registered under the limits of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate.

The arrested has been identified as Biju alias Vijay, a resident of Rayikatte in Bangra Kuloor.

According to police, he was wanted in cases related to communal violence and conspiracy to commit robbery registered at the Bunder Police Station, Kavoor Police Station, Urwa Police Station and Panambur Police Station. He had allegedly been evading court proceedings since 2021.

Police said the court had issued a non-bailable warrant against the accused after he failed to appear despite repeated summons.

Acting on the warrant, police traced and arrested the accused and later produced him before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
