Abhayashree Awards to be conferred on Justice Santosh Hegde,Dr Ramdas Pai on May 19

Mangalore, May 14, 2013: Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde, Manipal University Chancellor Dr Ramdas Pai and late Bekal Lingappaiah, Founder of Abhaya Ashraya of Konaje will be conferred the Abhayashree Awards on May 19 in recognition of their outstanding services to the  society.

The Awards  have been instituted by the Dr GS Vridhashrama at Kodialbail in Mangalore.

 

Informing this to reporters here, convener Srinath Hegde said the three awardees have contributed to the society in their own way and therefore chosen for the award. He said the renovated building of the Ashram will be inaugurated on the occasion.

The renovated building has two floors. The first floor is constructed with the help of donations by various banks while the second  floor houses the kitchen  constructed with the help of donations from the Kumble Ramdas  Nayak Memorial Trust and MRPL.

MN Kamath, President of the firm, was also present.
