ASHA worker dies of excessive bleeding during delivery

Puttur, June 21, 2023: An ASHA worker from Puttur taluk has died due to excessive bleeding during delivery on June 21, Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Bhavya (28), wife of Balakrishna Gowda of Hirebandady village.  The new born is said to be healthy.

 

Bhavya who suffered from labour pain was admitted to the Puttur Government Hospital on Monday. This was her third delivery. She gave birth to a boy on Tuesday night. However she suffered from excessive bleeding. When doctors found it difficult to control the bleeding, she was rushed to Wenlock where she died on June 21, Wednesday morning.

Bhavya has left behind her husband and three sons including the newborn baby.
