At least eight applications from family members of the victims have already been forwarded to the Mumbai office of Air India from Mangalore. Air India offers jobs to kin of victims, only if the applicants are highly skilled.

Air India Express chief operating officer S Chandrakumar, interacting with reporters on the sidelines of the first anniversary of the IX812 crash at ground zero at Kenjar here on Sunday, said the skill and eligibility of a person is very important when it comes to appointment in the organization. "First of all, we have to identify what sort of jobs can be given to them and also where they can be accommodated. Our industry requires only skilled people and we don’t have any subsidiary organizations where unskilled applicants can be given placement. We can help to make them self-sufficient by providing financial assistance to set up travel agencies," he said.
