ABVP protests against Prof. Shamsul Islam who arrived for B V Kakkilaya Inspired Oration

Mangaluru, Sep 09, 2023: ABVP activists staged a protest in front of the University College in the city on September 9, Saturday opposing the participation of Dr. Shamsul Islam, former Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Delhi in the BV Kakkilaya Inspired Oration at the College auditorium.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shamsul Islam, also a well-known researcher, author and People’s Theatre Activist, delivered the BV Kakkilaya Inspired Oration – 2023, titled “Joint Martyrdoms, Joint Heritage of 1857 War of Independence,” today.

The protestors also shouted Go Back Shamsul Islam slogans.

Reacting to the protestors, Dr Shamsul Islam said hundreds of people have been martyred during the freedom struggle, but the sacrifice of many martyrs have been neglected. This has to be understood by everyone, he added.

Security was stepped up around the function venue by the police in view of the protest.
