A family of violinists delight their hometown

Mangaluru, June 14, 2017  :  The family of Mangaluru origin cardiologist Dr Gerard Abreo who lives in Texas, US has the credit of being  the world’s biggest violin players’ family.  It is  significant to note that all the nine children of Dr Gerard  including the youngest who is three years old, are violin players.

 

Dr Gerard family which has arrived  hometown,   showcased its violin playing skills at the  Hams Mart at City Centre Mall on June 14, Wednesday. Each member of Dr Gerard family has a violin to suit his  size and plays violin masterfully.

 

 Dr Gerard’s elder son, 18 year old Michael is a para medical student at  a prestigious college in Texas, while 17 year old Daniel, 15 year old Christina, 13 year old Mariya, Jane (11), Rachel (9), John (7) and Luke (5) too are expert violin players. The youngest three year old Jose is also learning to play violin.

 

As the relatives of  Gerard stay in Mangaluru, the family arrives  hometown once in two years, visits old age homes and orphanages and  organises music concerts to share their joy.

 

Dr Gerard’s wife Nichole is the first violin teacher for the kids.
