7-year-old Kasaragod girl dies after falling from Sharjah apartment

Kasaragod, Aug 25, 2026: A seven-year-old girl from Kasaragod died after falling from the third floor of an apartment building in Sharjah on Monday morning, just a day after returning to the UAE from her summer vacation in Kerala.

The deceased has been identified as Safa, the only daughter of Mubarak Ali and Murshida, residents of Mogral in Kasaragod.

The incident occurred around 9 am local time in the Al Nabba area of Sharjah. According to reports, Safa was playing inside a room of the family’s apartment when she apparently lost her balance near an open window and fell from the building.

Her mother had left for work, while her father was at home when the incident occurred. Safa was rushed to Al Qassimi Hospital with critical injuries, but doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The family has been living in Sharjah for the past eight years. They had returned to the UAE on Sunday after spending their summer vacation in Kerala. Safa was a Grade 2 student at a private school in Sharjah.

Her body has been kept at the hospital mortuary as Sharjah Police investigate the incident. The family is awaiting completion of legal formalities to repatriate her body to Kerala.
