679 kg of rice meant for distribution at ration shops seized in Vitla

Vitla, May 11, 2026: The Vitla police registered a case against a person from Vitla for illegally stocking in his autorickshaw 679.38 kg rice, which was meant for distribution through ration shops.


Rice shops siezed

In a press note, the police said, on a tip off, a team comprising of food inspector A. Prashanth Shetty and Vitla police sub-inspector Ramakrishna visited the house of Ali Akbar, 40, in Kasba village of Vitla on Saturday morning. The team found 15 rice-filled plastic bags in Akbar’s autorickshaw that was parked in front of the house.
