5 lifters arrested, 7 stolen bikes seized

Mangaluru, Aug 08, 2020:    Bajpe police arrested five vehicle lifters and seized seven two-wheelers worth Rs 5 lakh.

Police while on patrol stopped two bikes and directed the four youth to produce documents. The youth failed to produce documents and on inquiry revealed that they had stolen bikes from various places in Bajpe police station jurisdiction.

The arrested youth were identified as Vijay alias Vijay Bovi alias Anjaneya alias Anju (23), of third block in Surathkal, Pradeep Poojary alias Pradi alias Chethan (27) of Ulaibettu, Abhijith (26) of Chitrapu, Rakshith Kulal (22) of fifth block Krishnapura and Sudeesh Nair alias Sudeesh K K alias Munna (20) of Hoohakuvakallu.

Vijay faces charges of theft of three bikes in Bajpe police station, three in Belthangady police station, one in Panambur and Kavoor police station jurisdiction. In addition, he is also facing charges of ganja peddling.

Pradeep is accused in the murder of Madoor Yusuf, attempt to murder case registered in Mangaluru North Police station, three bike theft cases in Belthangady and one in Moodbidri police station.

Abhijith is also facing charges of assault in Kaup station, attempt to murder in Narasihmaraja station in Mysuru and two bike theft cases in Bajpe station.

There are extortion cases against Rakshith in Surathkal police station and bike theft cases in Bajpe and Kavoor station limits.

Sudeesh Nair is facing charges of three bike thefts in Belthangady station, assault in Ullal station, one bike theft in Bajpe and Panambur police station jurisdiction.

During the interrogation, they revealed that they were hatching plans to steal gold from a jewellery shop in Moodbidri.
