Mangaluru, Juy 11, 2025: In all, 43 electricity poles of Mescom were damaged in Dakshina Kannada due to rain and heavy winds during the 24-hour-period which ended at 8.30 a.m. on Thursday, according to District Disaster Management Authority.
It said two houses were partially damaged in Bantwal taluk. The district received 30.9 mm of rainfall during the period. The maximum 36 mm of rainfall was recorded in Belthangady taluk, and the minimum 16 mm of rainfall was recorded in Mangaluru taluk.
According to the office of the Udupi Deputy Commissioner, a house was partially damaged in Byndoor taluk. The district recorded 39.9 mm of rainfall, with the maximum rainfall of 47.9 mm being recorded in Karkala taluk and the minimum rainfall of 23.9 mm being recorded in Kaup taluk.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert to coastal Karnataka till 8.30 a.m. on Friday.
