4 dead; 5 injured after lorry falls into gorge at Agumbe Ghat

Hebri, Oct 29, 2021: Four people died and five others sustained critical injuries after an Eicher vehicle  overturned and fell into a gorge at the Agumbe Ghat on October 29, Friday. The vehicle was heading towards Hebri from Shivamogga when tragedy struck.

 

The injured have been admitted to Manipal hospital. The driver reportedly lost control over the vehicle while it was passing through the slopy Ghat section.

The condition of some of the injured is critical. The deceased are said to be of Tamil Nadu origin. They were returning after transporting stones from Miyar in Karkala to a temple in Tarikere of Shivamogga district.
