32 couples get married at mass marriage ceremony

Bantwal, Mar 11, 2012: ACP Prakash Bhandary, Maharashtra Police Inelligence, inaugurated the 4th annual mass marriage ceremony organized by Swasthik Friends Club at Kattemane in Punjalkatte on March 11 Saturday. Thirty-two couples tied the knot on this occasion. 


Speaking on the occasion, ACP Bhandary expressed his appreciation of Swasthik Friends Club for assisting economically weak sections of society by conducting mass marriage ceremonies for them. 


Swami Muktananda of Karinje Ashram delivered the benedictory address on the occasion. Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty, the president of Mulund Bunts, presided.

A number of prominent people such as B. Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Coastal Development Authority (CDA); K. Padmanabha Kottari, the president of the district unit of the BJP; Chandrashekar Palettady, the editor of Mumbai Kannada; and Karnoor Mohan Pai, the member of the Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy, to mention a few, along with Prashanth Punjalkatte, the president of Swasthik Friends Club, and Abdulla, its honorary president, were also present.
