3 injured in stabbing incident at Melkar

Bantwal, Oct 27, 2023: A clash between two groups at Melkar a few days ago, has resulted in a stabbing incident on Thursday night wherein three suffered injuries. The condition of one of them is said to be critical. All the injured are being treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru.

 

The injured are Devadas, Sandeep and Shanker of Bolangady.  Shodhan of Bolangady, Yatish of Kalladka, Chethan, Prasanna, Pradeep and Prakash of Melkar have been named as the accused in the police complaint.

A clash between two tiger dance teams during the Panemangalore Sharadotsava procession on Wednesday night had led to the incident.

A team of youth who were part of a tiger dance team a few years ago had got separated and formed separate teams during Sharadotsav. The teams had  an altercation over the issue of some banner resulting in Thursday night’s stabbing incident.

Bantwal Police are investigating the case.
